Jacob served Laban seven years for Rachel; and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.
Jacob (to Laban): Give me my wife that I may go in to her, for my days are fulfilled.
Laban gathered together all the men of the place and made a feast.
In the evening, Laban took Leah his daughter and brought her to Jacob. And Jacob went in to her.
In the morning, Jacob realized it was Leah.
Jacob (to Laban): What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?
Laban: To give the younger in marriage before the firstborn, this must not be done in our country. Fulfill her week, and we will give you Rachel also for the service which you shall serve with me yet another seven years.
And Jacob did so; he fulfilled Leah’s week. And Laban gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.
And Jacob went in to Rachel also.
Jacob loved Rachel more than Leah, and he served with Laban another seven years.
And Laban gave Zilpah his maid to his daughter Leah for a handmaid.
And Laban gave Bilhah his handmaid to Rachel his daughter to be her maid.
