One Year and Ten Days On The Ark

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights. (Genesis7:11-12)

Genesis 8

God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters diminished;

The waters returned from off the earth continually…and the waters were decreased.

In the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat.

In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.

After another forty days, Noah opened the window of the ark, and he sent forth a raven.

The raven did not return. He went to and fro until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

Then Noah sent out a dove to see if the waters were gone from off the face of the ground. But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned to Noah into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. Noah put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her into the ark.

After seven days, Noah again sent the dove out of the ark. The dove came in to him in the evening; and in her mouth was an olive leaf: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

After another seven days Noah sent forth the dove; which did not return to him anymore.

In the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.

And God spoke to Noah.

God: Go forth out of the ark, you, and your wife, and your sons, and your sons’ wives with you. Bring forth with you every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

And Noah went forth out of the ark. He and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him went forth. Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatever creeps upon the earth; after their kinds, they went forth.

Noah and his family were on the ark one year and ten days.

There will be scoffers who will refuse to believe; in fact, they will choose to be ignorant of two things – creation and the flood. Why? Because they don’t want to believe that there is a God to whom they must answer for their actions. They want to follow their own lusts.

2 Peter 3:3-6

Knowing this first, that in the last days there shall come scoffers, walking after their own lusts.

Scoffers: Where is the promise of his coming? Since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For they are willingly ignorant of this, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

The scoffers in the last days are willingly ignorant (stupid on purpose) of creation and the flood.

After Noah left the ark, he built an altar for the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

And the Lord smelled a sweet savor.

Lord (in his heart): I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; I will not again smite everything living, as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
